with some expert grass cutting ability and it usually is at this very time that my talents shine. I almost consider grass cutting an addi- tional part time job because I seem to have to cut every other day. The combination of sun, rain, and good fertilizer are pretty amazing. I have [been] in my new position as your club director for a few months now and I think we should get to know one another a little better. I mentioned to you before that I have lived in Dubuque my entire life and have worked in banking for the past 30 years. My favorite part of banking has always been to make a positive difference in someone’s life. In my past it may have been finding a good Certificate of Deposit or Savings interest rate and reaching out to my clients. Some- times a loan special came around and I was able to consolidate debt and reduce interest rates and monthly payments. The Reward Checking and Reward Savings accounts speak for themselves. I also provided life insurance which I found very satisfying. I unfortunately know the benefits first hand. My husband died very suddenly just a few years ago. I can’t even imagine how much more difficult it would have been if I had to sell our family home or not be able to manage financially. It’s a tough subject but so important. Today my goal to make a positive difference has stayed on course, but I’m doing it in a much different way. Now I get to see

how my role in helping people earn or save more money has paid off. Your hard work and dedication to your goals now provide you the opportunity to do what you enjoy. I get to be a part of the adventures you take. When I plan a trip or purchase tickets to fun events I do so with you in mind. I love seeing you laugh at a comedy. I love seeing you share memories with fellow members and guests. I love being part of your life. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to do so. I came back from my travel conference with many great ideas and a long wish list of destinations. Stay tuned as I give you a sneak peak for 2019 and 2020.

From 1962-1966 while majoring in music education at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville, Hemmer organized the first “stage band” at UWP to perform campus events.
