The American Trust Story

American Trust & Savings Bank is a family-owned community bank founded in 1911 when Nicholas J. Schrup served as the first president. In the century to follow we grew, strengthened the products, services, and financial management expertise we provide to our clients, and retained the integrity and commitment that can only be found through a community bank. A financial services company with broad shoulders, American Trust counts among its core competencies commercial, agricultural, and business banking services; wealth management services, institutional and brokerage investment services; and consumer mortgage, lending, and deposit services. After three generations of growth at American Trust, a holding company, ATBancorp ® , was formed in 1985. Today, it is a two-bank holding company that serves nine communities through seventeen facilities in Iowa and Wisconsin. ATBancorp ® and its three banks are led by the President/Chairman Nicholas J. Schrup III. Members of the Schrup family lead the companies as bank executives and directors. ATBancorp ® holds assets in excess of $1.5 billion. It serves as the holding company for American Trust & Savings Bank and ATCapital Management in Iowa, and American Bank & Trust in Wisconsin. Today ATBancorp ® employs more than 350 professionals.
