Hello Friends,

We conquered another year, hooray! I sure had a great time. This is the Journal issue when I always talk about New Year’s resolutions. Do you have any? I tend to have way too many. I want to stay in shape and be healthy. I want to exercise more and eat less. I want to pray more and complain less.

Pretty common resolutions, but this year I decided to dig in a little deeper. What can I do to make 2020 a little better for all of you, and for me? Lets face it, we have to be happy with ourselves in order to make others happy. We must be satisfied with who we are, and what we do, and accept the fact that some things are out of our control. Many times, we just have to roll with the punches. Travelers are AMAZING at rolling with the punches because we are always at the mercy of others. We get to encounter people who roll out the red carpet for us and their main concern is our happiness, and then we run into others that really don’t have our best interest at heart. The last few words are hard for me to write because I never want to believe it; however, it is a fact of life. We have no idea why a person acts the way they do. They simply may not be capable of acting any other way at that particular moment in time. Hardship, grief, bad health, and constant pain are just a few reasons why people act the way they do. My New Year’s resolutions are going to include practicing patience and tolerance, and finding gratitude. We are embracing a new decade in a fast-paced ever-changing world. Change is inevitable. We experienced it here with a new Club name, a new bank name, and new computer systems. We have new faces in many offices, and new bankers from our help desk answering your calls. One day we will look back and hardly even remember all of this. But for now, I encourage you to practice patience and tolerance along with me and keep believing. We are definitely moving in the right direction. I make many decisions daily that affect all of you. Please know I do so with the very best intentions. I will continue to embrace new opportunities for our Club. Please take a look at our offerings and let me know what you are interested in. I always welcome your feedback.

Worth Thinking About: “You’re off to great places! Today is your day! Your mountain is waiting, so get on your way.” ~ Dr. Seuss

Mystery Trip July 22-24, 2020 Our destination is a secret!

Missing Word Contest: Our Missing Word Contest winner for Nov/Dec was Robert Rapp, who received a check for $25. The missing word was “I’ll,” and the song title was “I’ll Be Home For Christmas.” The year-end winner of $100 was Carol Bagge. We have hidden another song title with a missing word in this issue. Read your Connections Club newsletter carefully, looking for any words enclosed in [brackets] like this. Rearrange the words to form the title or extended title of a popular song. One word will be missing. Figure out the missing word, and write the missing word only on the Missing Word Contest form found below. All correct entries received prior to the deadline indicated on the form are entered into the $25 drawing. All entries received throughout the year are entered into a year-end drawing for a grand prize of $100! Good luck!
